Volunteer Opportunities At Parkside our goal is to create a volunteer-friendly church culture with intentional steps to connect people into meaningful service opportunities. We believe we function at our best when each one of us finds a place to serve the Lord by serving others. Jesus is the ultimate example of serving. He said in Mark 10:45, “For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many." 1 Peter 4:10 says, “Each one should use whatever gift he has received to serve others, faithfully administering God’s grace in its various forms.” God wants us to serve others! Whether someone is brand new to the church or been here for 10 or 20 years we want to help each find a place of meaningful service. We have several volunteer opportunities on different ministry teams. A few examples of volunteer opportunities include: our parking team, greeters at the doors, chair-set up team, coffee preparation, our Welcome team, our Outreach partner on Eastern Ave. (serving those in need with groceries, clothes, etc.), our music and creative arts team, the grounds & building maintenance team, our children & student ministry (applications required), conducting worship services with our Justice Ministry (application required), and more. You may be able to help us develop more volunteer ministry opportunities, especially those in your own community, neighborhood, or place of work. We welcome your input. We also encourage you to try out different ones for a brief period of time to see how you like it (we call this our First Serve). It is our desire to connect people with volunteer opportunities that will match their interests, gifts, abilities, knowledge, and experience. If you know how you would like to volunteer that is great! Please let us know and we will connect you with a team leader in that area. If you are not sure, we would love to talk with you to help you discover a ministry area that would allow you to serve with joy.
